210 is a LARGE Number, Opening Day In Baseball Is The Best, And Dave Grohl Does It Again!

Business
I got a job!

It took 210 days to find work but I did it! 🎉💪👍

210 days of consistent action.

210 days of persistence.

210 days of thick skin as the rejection emails were received in high volume.

210 days of self-reflection.

210 days of staying positive and knowing deep inside my soul that I’ve got this.

Two things really stood out for me that I wanted to share.

#1 NETWORK your face off!

Online, in-person, do social media posts, tell your neighbors, tell other parents at sports - spread your message wherever you can. Make sure everyone knows that you are looking and WHAT you are looking for.

Guess what? Suddenly it all came together a few weeks ago, and 4 really good opportunities happened at around the same time. All of them came from my NETWORK in some shape or form.

Applying online is something that I did more than I should of.

Hear this…. I received less than 25 interviews with close to 300 online applications. That is not a joke.

Was I getting screened out by age or other factors? Perhaps. But those numbers are LEGIT.

#2 I treated my search as a sales position, and all the other candidates were my “competition”.

* How can I make the biggest impact to a company?

* How am I different or better than them?

* How has everything that I’ve done with my brand position me to be a more well-rounded employee than those who say, “I’m on LinkedIn but I don’t really do much”.

* How can I position my diverse sales experience as a positive rather than being seen as somebody who’s had too many jobs?

* How can being confident, very business-like AND funny position me to stand out during interviews?

I could go on and on, and will some day.

The reality is, I kept this simple, but did the work every day. I ALWAYS took time for myself daily to relax and enjoy my hobbies.

You need that BREAK. Trust me.

Sports

They say that baseball does Opening Day the best, and the St. Louis Cardinals and Adam Wainwright helped to prove that. Click here to check out the suprise singer of the Star Spangled banned on opening day against my Toronto Blue Jays

Music

It’s no secret that I’m one of the biggest Dave Grohl fans out there. But as you know, it’s not always about rock and roll. Life happens too, and when it “did happen” recently in California, Dave was there to help out. Click this link to see the power of lending a helping hand!

And…..

As always, if you know of anyone who may be interested in joining us, you can send them a link (click here). They can read previous editions first, and if I haven’t totally bored them, they can subscribe if they like!

This newsletter is powered by beehiiv, a fantastic up and coming email marketing platform. If you know of anyone that is interested in starting a newsletter, I highly recommend beehiiv. I used to use MailChimp a few years ago, but beehiiv is very forward thinking and many people that I follow are moving their email lists over.
They can check it out via my affiliate link with all the information on their website by clicking here
I recently did a video discussing why I recommend using beehiiv. You can watch it here.
